Pathway staff expands

We have just under two months before the start of school and we are gearing up to welcome the Pathway Pioneers. We are very excited to announce that we have added another staff person -Trixie Ramoso, our new Residential and Community Services Coordinator! Trixie will oversee the residential supervision and planning of activities for our students, as well as help to coordinate their independent living skills training. Trixie received her BS in Psychology and her BA in Ethnic Studies from the University of California San Diego, where she served as a Resident Advisor for three years. She has also worked for other collegiate residential programs and recently served as a Graduate Assistant for the Community Service-Learning office at the University of Maryland, College Park. Trixie is passionate about working with college students, and helping them develop through service-learning opportunities, and we are excited to welcome her to our ever-expanding Pathway family.

Fundraising ideas

One of the most frequent issues raised regarding Pathway is the cost. Specifically, as we are in California questions come up about Regional Center funding. I am working on a longer post that will address some of these issues, but in the mean time I thought I would share what Heidi Sand, one of our incoming students is doing to raise tuition money.

Heidi and her mom Jacque Martin have put together a website/blog and are using it to raise money for Heidi's tuition. You can check out Heidi's Pathway to Empowerment website here.
