Pathway Summer Program

This summer in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and their partners the Southwest Special Education Local Plan Area (SWSELPA) and Green Dot Public Schools we are hosting a 4-week summer program.

On Thursday, June 24th eight young men from the SW SELPA area arrived for their two initial orientation days, and starting today, Monday, June 28th, are beginning the first of four weeks trying out the college experience. The students are living in the Pathway apartments Monday through Friday, taking two Pathway classes as well working with instructors and paraeducators from LACOE.

I have been blogging about the various aspects and activities of Pathway for a couple of years now, and I know that folks are out there reading this. Inspiriation for the blog ususally comes at the wrong time - when I am driving home - and evaporates before I can get in front of the computer. That really is the prime explaination for the droughts between postings. So I ask, beg, plead to you all out there to please let me know what you would like to know about Pathway or postsecondary education for folks with intellectual disabilities. Ask your question via a comment and I will do my best to answer.

Farewell Celebration 2010
