It is not everyday that inspiration comes from a government bureaucrat - but Sharon Lewis the Commissioner of the Administration on Developmental Disabilities is not your typical bureaucrat. She is a very strong advocate for folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and in her previous job as Senior Disability Policy Advisor to U.S. House Committee on Education & Labor, she played a large role is getting the changes to the Higher Education Opportunity Act supporting programs like Pathway. Below is an excerpt from her speech at a a recent meeting I attended in St. Paul, MN.
